After working as the CMO of UCB, Bharat founded the advisory firm Boston BioPharma Consultants. In 2019 he became the lead author of a publication about Artificial Intelligence and Patient Value in the New England Journal of Medicine / Catalyst. The study used NLP to listen to 500,000 patient voices and is the largest of its kind to help healthcare stakeholders better understand the real needs of patients. At the 2019 World Economic Forum in Davos, Bharat spoke about the need to break down silos in pharma companies and align on a definition of what “value for patients” means, so it can be maximised and rewarded appropriately.
